Ms. Leary (Room 206)

Welcome to Second Grade!!

Happy Back-to-School!! I hope that you are all feeling refreshed and ready to come back to begin a new year of excitement and learning after a fun-filled Summer Break.

Our new school buildings are coming along, and the Room 106 students can enjoy all the new spaces coming on line in the next several weeks.  Our classroom is all ready for the new school year, and the library and office spaces are getting closer every day.

The first few months of school will be jam packed with fun and getting to know you activities as we embark on a new year of learning.  Keep an eye on your students' homework folders for notifications on how to get involved.

Home/School Communication

We are all in this together!  No teacher, student, or parent can do it alone.  Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

For those on Class Dojo, the message feature is the best way to reach me during work hours, and a great was to get updates on how your student is doing in class.

If you haven't signed up for Class Dojo yet, you can always send me an email at: learyj1@sfusd.edu.

If you have a student in my current class, feel free to send notes in the daily homework folder, and don't forget to check there for regular updates and paperwork.

Thank you for all that you do!

Fundraising Year-round

Check out the new TILT crowdfunding website to support J. Serra:  https://sfusd.tilt.com/junipero-serra-elementary-school

Please continue to clip & save Boxtops for Education.  Boxtops can be turned in to the front office, or to Ms. Leary in the classroom.

Wish List

As we launch another busy school year, we are always thinking about what we will need to support our eager students.  If you can spare the time or donations of the following materials to our classroom, it would be much appreciated:

- tissues

- clorox wipes

- glue sticks

- erasers

- folders

Students should also each have their own:

- eraser

- backpack

Thank you!

Serra community, and she is loving the ever-changing 2nd grade curriculum and her wonderful students in room 106.  Outside of school, Mrs. Leary Duquette spends her time chasing her energetic toddler, reading, camping, running, traveling, and working in her garden.
